Berts Mega Mall complaint by Fourtyformagnum
I told the sales person that I was unwilling to go over a certain amount of money on a toy. I asked if he was willing to make a deal. He said he would check with the manager. 20 minutes later he came back with a price $1,000 more than I was willing to spend. I explained that it wouldn't make sense for me to spend so much and that I didn't want to go back and forth all day. He told me to wait a few minutes. 10 minutes later he came back and took $100 off the last price. I thanked him for his time and asked for my ID back. He said ok and 15 minutes later he came back with the manager who explained that they couldn't go any lower. I said that I could do better elsewhere and asked for my ID back. He said ok. 20 minutes later the sales person returned and asked me what I thought about this other bike he had. I told him that I want to leave, and asked for my ID back. He said ok.

10 minutes later he returned and said his manager was making a phone call to see if he could meet the original price I said I was willing to pay. I walked into the managers area and demanded my ID back. The salesperson had my id in a folder that he was carrying the whole time but he didn't want to give it back to me until I bought something so he could make his commission. I was too angry to conduct business with these people. I will never return to Berts again. I will tell everyone that I know to stay away from Berts. Why would anyone have to ask 4 times for a salesperson to return their Drivers license.

Extremely unprofessional.

"I bought a brand new Can Am Spyder. Everything was great until I had to fill out all the paper work with the finance department. The finance manager offered me the extended warranty, but I declined. He ignored my decline and continued to explain the details. I declined approximately 15 times (not exaggerating). He ignored it continuously, but got the feeling I was getting irritated. He moved on and added that I had to sign a waiver that I denied the extended warranty. The guy seemed angry that he couldn't get me to buy the warranty and ended up sliding the remaining papers down the desk at me. To top things off, the finance manager tells another finance guy, who passed by, that I decided not to purchase the extended warranty on this brand new bike. He's trying to make me look stupid that I am not buying the warranty. The other finance guy than starts to ask me questions about if I knew how much certain parts are on this bike. If this warranty was so great, why would they have to push it so hard. Bert's has a pretty good variety, but is not extensive on each brand. They tend to dabble in each brand. They don't seem to have the newest and just released models. The Ducati 696 was released in the middle of May 2008. They still don't have any. Still selling the old discontinued 695 at regular price. Other Ducati dealers are discounting the old 695 already."
